📷||Port Kaituma Stands Together in Remembrance

Tonight, the people of Port Kaituma stood together—not only to light candles, but to share in the grief that has touched every heart following the tragic MV Barima incident.

In the silence of the evening, every flame became a symbol of a precious life lost too soon. Every prayer carried our sorrow, our love, and our hope for the families whose lives have been forever changed by this unimaginable tragedy.

No words can truly heal the pain of such a profound loss, but as one community, we stand beside every grieving family. We mourn together, we pray together and we will continue to support one another through these difficult days. The memories of those we have lost will forever remain in our hearts and their lives will never be forgotten.

May God wrap His loving arms around every family affected, grant them comfort in their sorrow, and give them the strength to face each new day. May He also grant eternal peace to the souls of those who have departed.

The Government of Guyana, together with the Regional Democratic Council, stand united in solidarity with the people of Port Kaituma and every family affected by the tragic MV Barima incident.

PYO Group Revitalized in Matthews Ridge

The Progressive Youth Organisation (PYO) Group has officially been resuscitated in Matthews Ridge, marking a renewed commitment to youth involvement, leadership, and community development.

The activity also included the distribution of mirrors to residents, a simple but meaningful initiative aimed at supporting community members.

The PPP/C Matarkai Cluster extends its gratitude to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this initiative. Together, we continue to empower our communities, strengthen our youth, and work towards a brighter future for all.

PPP/C Matarkai Cluster | Community Highlight – One Mile

The PPP/C Matarkai Cluster proudly highlights the continued development taking place in the community of One Mile through the support of the Government of Guyana and the Ministry of Amerindian Affairs.

The establishment of a shade house, poultry project, village shop, and sewing centre is creating employment opportunities, empowering residents, and strengthening livelihoods in One Mile and surrounding communities across Matarkai.

These initiatives reflect the Government's commitment to improving the quality of life for all Guyanese by promoting sustainable development, economic empowerment, and community growth.

Together, we are building stronger communities and a brighter future for Region One.
