ANGOY’S AVENUE ADOLESCENT YOUTH FRIENDLY SPACE
ANNUAL REVIEW
Angoy’s Avenue Adolescent Youth Friendly Space.The (AAYFS) initiative has created a safe space for many adolescents and youths to access relevant information about their sexuality and Sexual Reproductive Health Issues, they are able to make wise choices and have discussion ab
out lives and positively relate to their peer and programme for adolescent mother to reduce second and third pregnancy. Session on HIV/AIDS-Out of school and students in secondary school 90% youths have knowledge about HIV /AID. Ten sessions were conducted at the Youth Friendly Space,President Youth Award Units and Church youth groups within New Amsterdam on Sexual Reproductive Health,with inclusive (70) males and two hundred(200) females,which give you a total of two hundred and seventy youth between ages fourteen(14) to thirty five(35). Informative discussion relating to differing health topics such as Domestic Violence,gender based violence,Gender equality,Leadership,Family planning and sexuality were held at the Angoy’s Avenue Youth Friendly space,both males and female were in attendance. Five physical fitness activities were successful done in 2015,which include Netball,volleyball,basketball competition, Track and field event and family fun-days.These events had numerous support from differing sports clubs,a total of twenty five teams for the various sports participated in the differing activities which were successfully carried out on the differing dates. Community mobilization and condom distribution were conducted three times every months on Sundays .a total of five hundred and thirty eight condoms were distributed(538) and a total forty five persons were reached on a regular basic during community mobilization.
6*Medical outreach were held at the Angoy’s Avenue Health Centre in collaboration with Guyana Responsible Parenthood Association and Angoy’s Avenue youth friendly space.During this mobile clinic a total of sixty persons at all ages were involved in this activity,both males and females. Annual children Christmas Party in collaboration with Presidents Youth Award and Youth Friendly space ,one hundred and twenty five children were given the opportunity to celebrated and received the joy of christmas.
