NDMA Takes Cybersecurity Awareness Month to Region 9

The National Data Management Authority (NDMA) continued its Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2026 roadshow at Bina Hill Technical Institute in Region 9, engaging 23 first- and second-year students from Regions 5, 7, 8 and 9, along with two teachers.

Students were encouraged to put cyber hygiene practices into action in their everyday digital lives while exploring the growing opportunities in ICT, particularly in Cybersecurity.

Through its regional outreach, NDMA continues to bring cybersecurity awareness and career conversations to young people across Guyana, helping to build a more informed and cyber-resilient generation.

NDMA Kicks Off Cybersecurity Awareness Month in Essequibo.
The National Data Management Authority (NDMA) kicked off Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2026 with a Roadshow at the Essequibo Technical Institute, engaging approximately 90 students.
The session focused on cybersecurity careers, everyday digital safety, cyber threats, social engineering, strong passwords, multi-factor authentication, and the risks of oversharing online.
Cybersecurity Awareness Month is observed every October to promote safer digital practices. This year’s theme is “Secure Our World.”
