🌊🇳🇵 Solidarity with Nepal

On August 26, catastrophic flash floods struck Rasuwa District and downstream communities, leaving nearly 1,000 dead, thousands missing, and more than 93,000 families affected. Homes, schools, health posts, and vital infrastructure have been destroyed, while survivors face urgent needs for food, shelter, water, and medical care.

PANAP’s Executive Director Sarojeni Rengam states:

“We stand in solidarity with the people of Nepal devastated by the catastrophic floods. Nearly 1,000 people have died, thousands remain missing, and more than 93,000 have been affected. As a glacier collapse in the rapidly warming Himalayas unleashes such devastation, this is a stark reminder of the growing risks of the climate crisis. Those least responsible must not bear its greatest costs, such as those borne by affected rural and remote communities in Nepal. We demand climate justice and accountability. We call for immediate and just recovery and adequate support for communities on the frontlines.”

We urge everyone to extend support to organizations working tirelessly on the ground as they provide food, shelter, medical aid, and psychosocial support to affected families.
