We're honored to share this insightful interview with Dr. Habeeb Ur Rehman, Assistant Officer at HKUST's Division of Public Policy. This interview was taken during Islamic Conference at Islamic Kasim Tuet Memorial College.

Dr. Rehman introduces some common mental health concerns among ethnic minorities in Hong Kong, and highlights projects his team is undertaking to address key issues.

He explains that factors like cultural displacement, discrimination, unemployment, and language barriers can negatively impact mental health. Stigma also prevents many from seeking help.

To drive change, HKUST has implemented initiatives providing mental health education, building community networks, and making services more accessible. For example, their EM Wellness Project trains leaders to support those struggling.

Watch Dr. Rehman's interview to learn more about the nuanced mental health landscape for ethnic minorities, and the transformative solutions HKUST is driving.

We're inspired by their meaningful work empowering communities from within. Our thanks to Dr. Rehman and HKUST for striving to make mental healthcare more inclusive and effective for all.
