The Consulate General of Pakistan in Hong Kong hosted a vibrant Pakistan Day reception, celebrating the enduring friendship and multifaceted ties between Pakistan and Hong Kong. The event was attended by a distinguished gathering of government officials, journalists, members of the business community, members of the consular corps, dignitaries, and members of the Pakistani diaspora.
The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of Pakistan and China, symbolizing the strong bilateral relationship between the two nations. The event was inaugurated with welcome remarks by the Consul General of Pakistan in Hong Kong, who emphasized the robust cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, finance, and people-to-people contacts that continue to strengthen Pakistan-Hong Kong relations.
Honorable Secretary for Justice, Mr. Paul TK Lam, graced the occasion as the chief guest, delivering a speech highlighting the importance of the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Hong Kong. His Excellency Khalil Hashmi, Ambassador of Pakistan to Beijing, also attended the event, sharing insights on the strategic bilateral relationship between Pakistan and China, as well as the unique advantages Hong Kong offers as a global financial hub that can be mutually leveraged.
Provincial Minister for Finance, H.E. Mujtaba Shau Rehman, was honored as a special guest, underscoring the significance of regional economic cooperation and development.
Adding to the cultural vibrancy of the evening, the Pakistani band Khumarian captivated the audience with a mesmerizing musical performance, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Pakistan.
