Municipalidad de Utila gestiona importantes proyectos ante el FHIS

Este miércoles 06 de mayo de 2026, el señor Alcalde Municipal de Utila, Alexander Ebanks, sostuvo una importante gestión ante el Fondo Hondureño de Inversión Social (FHIS), dirigido por el señor René Martínez, con el propósito de solicitar apoyo para proyectos prioritarios en beneficio de nuestra comunidad.

Entre las solicitudes presentadas se encuentra la aprobación de fondos para la construcción de pavimento con concreto hidráulico en el Barrio La Punta, una obra de gran importancia para el desarrollo local, la movilidad y el bienestar de los habitantes del sector.

Asimismo, se gestionó el apoyo para la formulación y construcción de dos tanques de almacenamiento de agua, con capacidad de 100,000 galones cada uno, con el objetivo de fortalecer el acceso continuo y seguro al vital líquido para la población de Utila, especialmente para niños, adultos mayores y mujeres.

La Municipalidad de Utila continúa trabajando y tocando puertas ante las instituciones del Gobierno Central, reafirmando su compromiso con el desarrollo, la infraestructura y el bienestar de todos los utileños.

Municipality of Utila Manages Important Projects with FHIS

This Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the Municipal Mayor of Utila, Alexander Ebanks, held an important meeting with the Honduran Social Investment Fund (FHIS), directed by Mr. René Martínez, with the purpose of requesting support for priority projects that will benefit our community.

Among the requests presented was the approval of funds for the construction of hydraulic concrete pavement in Barrio La Punta, a project of great importance for local development, mobility, and the well-being of the residents of that area.

Support was also requested for the formulation and construction of two water storage tanks, each with a capacity of 100,000 gallons, with the objective of strengthening continuous and safe access to this vital resource for the population of Utila, especially children, older adults, and women.

The Municipality of Utila continues working and knocking on doors before Central Government institutions, reaffirming its commitment to development, infrastructure, and the well-being of all Utilians.

La Municipalidad de Utila que dirige el 𝐀𝐥𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 logra la ejecución de una obra que durante muchos años fue solicitada y esperada por la comunidad de este sector, y que hoy comienza a hacerse realidad. La construcción de esta calle por parte de la Municipalidad de Utila tiene la finalidad de mejorar el acceso y crear vías alternas en el Barrio Camponado, una obra de infraestructura local con varios efectos importantes lográndose con 𝐟𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐬.

Dicha calle va paralela a la calle principal se harán trabajos de rellenos, fundido de estacas y posteriormente pavimentar, esta primera etapa consiste en trabajar 𝟖𝟐 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 (desde la Iglesia Odres Nuevos hasta unirse con el callejón de acceso por el sector del taller de quisiño)

Este tipo de proyecto responde a necesidades de movilidad: facilitar el tránsito de residentes, reducir tiempos de traslado y ofrecer rutas alternativas en caso de emergencias o congestión. En comunidades insulares la red vial puede ser limitada, abrir nuevas calles tiene un impacto significativo en la conectividad interna.

The Municipality of Utila, led by 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬, has achieved the ex*****on of a project that the community of this area had requested and awaited for many years, and which is now beginning to become a reality. The construction of this road by the Municipality of Utila aims to improve access and create alternative routes in the Camponado neighborhood, a local infrastructure project with several important effects achieved with 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬.

This street runs parallel to the main street. Work will include filling, pile driving, and subsequent paving. This first stage consists of working on 𝟖𝟐 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 (from the Odres Nuevos Church to its junction with the access alley near the quisiño workshop).

This type of project responds to mobility needs: facilitating the transit of residents, reducing travel times, and offering alternative routes in case of emergencies or congestion. In island communities, the road network can be limited; opening new streets has a significant impact on internal connectivity.

El cierre se mantendrá durante el desarrollo de las actividades cívicas y el recorrido del desfile, por lo que se recomienda a conductores y peatones tomar rutas alternas y atender las indicaciones de las autoridades locales.

The closure will remain in effect throughout the civic activities and the parade route. Drivers and pedestrians are advised to take alternate routes and follow the instructions of local authorities.

La Municipalidad de Utila expresa su más sincero agradecimiento a toda la población por su valiosa participación en la jornada de recolección de residuos de aparatos eléctricos y electrónicos (RAEE), realizada los días 10, 12, 17 y 19 de marzo.

Thanks to this joint effort, we successfully collected over 3,200 pounds of recyclable material, making a significant contribution to environmental protection 🌎 and strengthening a culture of social responsibility in our community.

💙 2 de abril | Día Mundial de Concienciación sobre el Autismo 💙

Hoy, desde la Municipalidad de Utila, nos unimos con amor y respeto para crear conciencia sobre el autismo, una realidad que nos invita a ser más empáticos, inclusivos y humanos.

En nuestra comunidad, este tema no es ajeno. Como municipalidad, contamos con familias cercanas que viven día a día la experiencia de acompañar a hijos e hijas dentro del espectro autista. Esto nos recuerda que el autismo no es una distancia, sino una oportunidad para aprender a amar mejor.

✨ Cada niño y niña es una creación perfecta de Dios, con un propósito único. Como nos recuerda la palabra en Salmos 139:14: “Te alabaré; porque formidables, maravillosas son tus obras.”

Today, from the Municipality of Utila, we join with love and respect to raise awareness about autism—a reality that calls us to be more empathetic, inclusive, and compassionate as a community.

In our municipality, this topic is close to home. We have families within whom lovingly support children on the autism spectrum. This reminds us that autism is not distance, but an opportunity to learn how to love better.

✨ Every child is a perfect creation of God, with a unique purpose. As the Word reminds us in Psalm 139:14: “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
