On Wednesday, June 18th, starting at 12:00, a volunteer action was held by students who volunteered for the Public Institution Lokrum Reserve in Dubrovnik through Academics Programs International.
The goal of the volunteer action was to promote a new ecological excursion that is carried out by a hybrid vessel. Excursion named "Historical Gardens of the Dubrovnik Area" is part of the project "Promoting Sustainable Development of Natural Heritage" co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. After the volunteers distributed information brochures throughout the city center. After the action, the students visited the island of Lokrum, where they had the opportunity to get acquainted with numerous types of plants and their medicinal properties in the Botanical Garden. Under the olive trees, in an open-air classroom, they learned a little more about the Island, the quarantine that was never completed, Benedictine pharmacy skills, aroma therapy and the use of plants for medicinal purposes, since the focus of their study is public health.
