Here are some statements that we found out while interviewing female forest owners from Serbia: 🇷🇸⤵️

👩‍🚒🌳 Female forest owners from Serbia enjoy being forest owners and consider it part of their family heritage.
👩‍🚒🌳 Women are just as capable of doing forestry jobs as men. The only jobs that most women cannot do are hard physical jobs, such as cutting and felling trees, etc.
👩‍🚒🌳 The reason why there are fewer women in leadership positions is that they are less present in the forestry sector.
👩‍🚒🌳 Training is important, as well as awareness-raising campaigns and empowerment of female forest owners.

On the same occasion, female forest professionals shared these statements with us: ⤵️

👩🏻‍💻🌳 Profession in forestry includes hard physical work, so women often focus more on ecology, nature conservation, or work in the nursery, etc. Regardless, both genders can be placed in any job in forestry. Although, women are more meticulous, more responsible, more accountable, and more precise than men.
👩🏻‍💻🌳 Prejudices that forestry is a male profession are the main reasons for the low number of women in leadership positions in the forest sector.
👩🏻‍💻🌳 Continuous education is necessary to strengthen the position of women in the forestry sector.
