Benvenuti alla Porta della Fratta 🤩
Questa porta fa parte del Secondo Girone di Mura costruito nel XIII secolo ed è uno degli accessi storici più importanti della Città di San Marino. Attraverso il camminamento sopra le mura permetteva di salire fino alla Torre Guaita ed era fondamentale per la difesa 🏰 Infatti le sue mura e i suoi torrioni vicini erano pensati per l’uso della balestra, prima dell’arrivo delle armi da fuoco ⚔️
Negli anni Trenta del Novecento la porta fu ampliata per migliorare il collegamento con il Centro Storico, seguendo il progetto dell’ingegnere sammarinese Gino Zani 📐

🇬🇧 Welcome to Porta della Fratta (Fratta Gate) 🤩
The Fratta Gate is part of the Second Set of Walls built in the 13th century and is one of the San Marino Old Town’s most important historic entrances. The walkway along the top of the walls allowed people to go to the Guaita Tower and played a key role in the city’s defence 🏰 In fact, its nearby walls and towers were designed for the use of the crossbow, before the introduction of firearms⚔️
In the 1930s, the gate was enlarged to improve access to the Old Town, following a design by the Sammarinese engineer Gino Zani 📐
