Francuski put na Pelješcu jedno je od rijetkih preostalih svjedočanstava iz razdoblja napoleonskih ratova na dubrovačkom području i po svojim je gabaritima i očuvanosti, bez panadana. Strateška nužnost pelješkog p**a predodređena je potpunom inferiornošću Francuza na Jadranu. Napoleonski put na Pelješcu, 61 km dug, proteže se od Dola do Vignja na sjeverozapadu poluotoka. Trasa je tako položena da
prolazi najkraćim putem, omogućavajući danas potpuno nov doživljaj prostora. Put je građen etapno, a izgradnja je nastavljena i pod austrijskom vlašću, kada su povezana sva veća mjesta na poluotoku. Pored francuske vojske u gradnji je bilo prisiljeno sudjelovati i lokalno stanovništvo. Put je danas u fazi rekonstrukcije i razvoja, dionica Ston - Ponikve je raščišćena za posjetitelje. The French road traversing the Pelješac peninsula is one of few remaining testimonies from the period of the Napoleonic wars in the Dubrovnik area, and in its scope and present day condition is without comparison. The strategic imperative of the route stems from inferiority of French Navy in the Adriatic Sea. The Napoleonic Road, 61 km in length, stretching from Doli in the south to Viganj in the north, was determined by the most direct route, and offers today a renewed experience of the landscape. Built in stages, construction continued under Austrian rule, when all main settlements on the peninsula were connected to the mainland. In addition to the French army, local populations were forced to participate in its construction. Today the route is in development stage, Part STON - PONIKVE is open for visitors.
