🇲🇦 The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in the Republic of Croatia Celebrates Throne Day
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in the Republic of Croatia had the honour of celebrating the 27th Anniversary of the Accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God Assist Him, to the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors during an official reception held at the Sheraton Zagreb Hotel.
The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Croatia, setting the tone for an evening dedicated to friendship, dialogue and cooperation.
The event brought together a distinguished gathering of high-level guests, including representatives of the Croatian State institutions, Members of Parliament, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Croatia, representatives of the business community, academia, religious communities, the media, as well as members of the Moroccan community in Croatia and friends of Morocco.
In her address, H.E. Mrs. Nour El Houda Marrakchi, Ambassador of His Majesty the King to the Republic of Croatia, highlighted the significance of Throne Day as a symbol of the enduring bond between the Throne and the Moroccan people. She also presented the major achievements accomplished under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, notably in the fields of economic development, industrial transformation, renewable energy, social reforms, infrastructure, and Morocco's growing role as a reliable regional and international partner.
Representing the Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Mrs. Morana Bušelić congratulated the Kingdom of Morocco on this national occasion and reaffirmed the excellent diplomatic relations and longstanding friendship between Morocco and Croatia, expressing the shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The evening continued in a warm and convivial atmosphere with the screening of an institutional film showcasing Morocco's development, followed by a reception featuring authentic Moroccan cuisine, traditional pastries and the renowned Moroccan mint tea, reflecting the Kingdom's rich cultural heritage and legendary hospitality.
On this memorable occasion, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco expresses its sincere gratitude to all the distinguished guests whose presence contributed to the success of this celebration and to the continued strengthening of the friendship between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Croatia.

The member countries of the Economic Community of West African States signed the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) governing the development of the Nigeria-Morocco African Atlantic Gas Pipeline (AAGP) — formally endorsing an initiative launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, and the late former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, with the continued support of current President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Stretching nearly 6,800 kilometres along Africa's Atlantic coast and crossing thirteen countries, the pipeline will transport natural gas from Nigeria to Morocco before connecting to the European gas network, with a transport capacity of 30 billion cubic meters per year.
Estimated at approximately $25 billion, the African Atlantic Gas Pipeline aims to establish an integrated regional natural gas market across West Africa, supporting electricity generation, industrialization, and the development of the continent's natural resources.
The ownership of the project by ECOWAS member States strengthens its political and institutional foundation, while reinforcing the founding impetus advanced by its two promoting countries, which believe that Africa’s energy security is a fundamental driver of sovereignty, industrialization, and shared prosperity.
Jointly developed by Morocco's ONHYM and Nigeria's NNPC Ltd., the project will enter its operational development phase following the completion of all main engineering, environmental, and technical studies. The Project Company will be headquartered in Casablanca, while the Pipeline Higher Authority will be based in Abuja.
Launched as a bilateral strategic initiative between Morocco and Nigeria, the African Atlantic Gas Pipeline has evolved into a project embraced by all of West Africa — a true development corridor connecting African economies and strengthening their integration, competitiveness, and shared prosperity.

🇲🇦 Amman | 165th Session of the Council of the League of Arab States
On the sidelines of the 165th session of the Council of the League of Arab States at ministerial level, held in Amman, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates H.E. Mr. Nasser Bourita conducted a series of bilateral talks with his Arab counterparts, reaffirming the Kingdom of Morocco's active and constructive engagement within the Arab multilateral framework.
H.E. Mr. Bourita met with H.E. Mr. Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, during which both ministers reviewed ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination mechanisms between the two countries, underscoring their shared determination to consolidate bilateral relations across various sectors and open new horizons for cooperation.
He also held talks with H.E. Mr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt — an opportunity to reaffirm the excellence of bilateral relations and the historic ties uniting the two brotherly kingdoms.
H.E. Mr. Bourita further met with H.E. Mr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, with discussions focusing on efforts to ensure security and stability in the region, as well as means to strengthen Arab cooperation and coordination in addressing current challenges.
A meeting was also held with H.E. Mr. Mohieddin Salem Ahmed Ibrahim, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Sudan.
On the plenary level, H.E. Mr. Bourita participated in the resumption of the 165th ministerial session, which had opened on March 29 via videoconference under the chairmanship of Bahrain. Arab foreign ministers examined key Arab and regional issues, reviewed the latest developments in the region, and coordinated positions on matters of common interest, in a spirit of strengthening joint Arab action

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, H.E. Mr. Nasser Bourita, advocated on Wednesday 20.05 in Rabat for UN peacekeeping mandates to be in step with developments on the ground, failing which they risk becoming instruments of the status quo, rather than genuine levers for conflict resolution.
Mr. Bourita recalled that hosting this Conference in Morocco bears witness to the Kingdom’s deep commitment to the values of peace, cooperation, and international solidarity, in line with the Very High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him.
The High-Level Segment of the 2nd Ministerial Conference on Peacekeeping in the Francophone Environment, adopted a Declaration commending the leading role played by Morocco as a major actor in international peace and security. The Conference also praised Morocco’s efforts in mediation, preventive diplomacy, and the promotion of dialogue for the peaceful settlement of disputes.
French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs H.E Mr.Jean-Noël Barrot stated that Morocco is a key player in peacekeeping and a major partner on the African continent,
On the other hand, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. António Guterres, expressed his thanks to Morocco and France for organizing and co-chairing the 2nd Ministerial Conference on Peacekeeping in the Francophone Environment.

In an interview with Ina Stašević for Glas Slavonije, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco H.E. Nour El Houda Marrakchi highlighted Morocco’s unique cultural identity, one and indivisible, shaped by the convergence of its Arab-Islamic, Amazigh, and Sahrawi-Hassani components. she referred to the Moroccan constitution which consolidates the richness of its African, Andalusian, Hebrew, and Mediterranean heritage, while affirming a commitment to moderation, tolerance, and dialogue.
Her excellency underlined the Kingdom’s vision of culture as a strategic pillar of sustainable development, openness and international cooperation.
The opening of the Royal Theatre of Rabat marks an important milestone in Morocco’s cultural landscape and reflects the Kingdom’s commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to promoting creativity, intercultural dialogue and artistic excellence on the national, regional and international levels.
Her excellency also emphasized the important role of culture in strengthening mutual understanding and fostering closer ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Croatia.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, H.E. Mr. Nasser Bourita and his counterpart H.E. Mr. Motegi Toshimitsu, held a video conference within the framework of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Japan.
Japan welcomed the adoption of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797 on October 31, 2025, affirming that “a genuine autonomy, under Moroccan sovereignty, could be one of the most feasible solutions,” stressing that "Japan was ready to act taking into account its position and the current evolution of the situation, including at the diplomatic and economic levels."
Japan also "expressed its support for the efforts made by the Secretary General and his Personal Envoy to facilitate and lead negotiations, based on the Moroccan autonomy plan, to achieve a just, lasting, and mutually acceptable settlement of the dispute."
Furthermore, Japan praised Morocco’s efforts to “progress African integration, bolster cooperation ties with African countries, as well as strengthen peace, stability and shared prosperity in the region’’
Japan also welcomed the Atlantic Initiatives launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI: The Initiative of Atlantic African States, the African Atlantic Gas Pipeline and the Initiative for Sahel Countries’ Access to the Atlantic Ocean.
