Eighty years on, Vis still remembers.

Today, Ambassador Javed Patel and Defence Attaché Richard Milburn paid tribute to the British, American and Croatian forces who fought side by side from this island against Na**sm, laying wreaths at the British Military Cemetery, the RAF cross, the US memorial at Milna with U.S. Embassy Zagreb, and on Komiža jetty for the 50 Royal Navy Coastal Forces shipmates lost at sea in 1944.

Sastali smo se s gradonačelnikom Čačićem, predstavnicama Udruge “Žene kosovske doline” i predsjednikom šibensko-kninskog SNV-a Borislavom Šarićem.

There are few people who could fill a museum atrium in Zagreb with so much warmth on a Friday evening. Sir David Attenborough is one of them. 🎂

Last night we celebrated his 100 years together with the Croatian Natural History Museum, the BBC, and friends from across Zagreb’s nature and science communities.

Our Defence Attaché Richard Milburn had the honour of blowing out the candles, and shared a few words as someone who, like so many in the room, grew up cross-legged in front of the telly on Sunday evenings, completely transfixed by that voice.

A hundred years of teaching us to look closely, and to believe there’s still so much worth protecting. That’s an optimism the UK shares, and why we’re proud to work with friends like Croatia on the things that matter, from climate to nature to the oceans we all depend on.

Prije 81 godinu Europa je proglasila Dan pobjede u Europi, poraz fašizma i kraj Drugog svjetskog rata na europskom kontinentu.

Na Vidovoj gori, vrhu iznad otoka Brača gdje su se 1944. britanski komandosi i hrvatski antifašisti zajedno borili protiv njemačke okupacije, Veleposlanik Javed Patel položio je vijenac u znak sjećanja na one koji su dali svoje živote za slobodu.

Njihova hrabrost i solidarnost ostaju dio naše zajedničke europske povijesti.
