Dragi članovi naše hrvatske katoličke misije,

s velikom radošću pozivamo vas da zajedno proslavimo 10. godišnjicu osnutka Hrvatske katoličke misije Dublin, najmlađe hrvatske katoličke misije. ❤️

Ovih deset godina ispunjeno je vjerom, molitvom, zajedništvom, susretima i ljubavlju prema Bogu, Crkvi i hrvatskom narodu.

The World Ploughing Championships are coming to 🇭🇷, specifically to the greater Osijek area at the end of this week (4-5 September). John Whelan from Wexford and Eamonn Tracey from Carlow will represent Ireland. They will be joined by Gary Simms as coach and Harry Mallon as judge. It is almost time to climb into those 🚜🚜 for more than just a practice run.

To mark the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union 🇪🇺, the Central Bank of Ireland has launched a new €2 commemorative coin.

500,000 of the specially designed €2 coins entered circulation in early July. People all over Ireland, and indeed Europe, can now find the coin in circulation.

To raise awareness of the coin, the Central Bank of Ireland has launched an EU Coin Challenge encouraging members of the public to find the new coin and to create a video of themselves revealing the coin in a creative way. The best videos will be featured on the Central Bank’s social channels, and three lucky winners will get exclusive proof coin sets.

Here is the coin at the Croatian National Bank (Hrvatska Narodna Banka), which is probably where one would expect to find money!!

The last Monday of the summer is an 🇮🇪🎼 Monday with Florence Road as the group that will help us say goodbye to the season with a storm warning. Frontwoman Lily Aron, guitarist Emma Brandon, bassist Ailbhe Barry and drummer Hannah Kelly are best friends, who like to be silly on social media.

We're delighted to see Irish-Croatian creativity continue to grow in collaboration, with the opening show of Marina Carr's Mirandolina taking place in the Abbey Theatre, Dublin this evening.

The play is performed in Italian with English subtitles and is a co-production by the Abbey Theatre, Teatro Stabile del Veneto – Teatro Nazionale Italy, and Croatian National Theatre in Rijeka – HNK Rijeka.

It is playing at the Abbey Theatre until next Saturday 5 September and we hope some of you will get to see it.

💚 Shine's Green Ribbon 2026 Campaign launches today 💚

Shine manages the national stigma-reduction programme for Ireland. An important part of this work is the annual Green Ribbon Campaign, which is now in its 17th year.

While the campaign runs throughout the year, Shine has designated September as the focus month for campaign awareness-raising events and activities. Shine promotes the wearing of the green ribbon, a symbol of solidarity, encouraging us all to engage in open conversations and break down the barriers surrounding mental illness.
