Ambassador Abasi Ogwime Braimah received Dr István Mikó and Mr Csaba Koppány Tóth, representatives of PannonCorp Ltd, at the Embassy today. The meeting was facilitated by Mr Akinyade Olamigoke and his daughter, Ms Jozefa Akinyade, who introduced the PannonCorp delegation to the Ambassador.
PannonCorp Ltd, which maintains an official partnership with a Chinese oil company seeking to import crude oil from Nigeria, formally introduced itself to the Embassy and expressed its interest in serving as an intermediary between the Chinese company and Nigeria.
The Ambassador requested that PannonCorp submit a formal written proposal, which the Embassy will forward to the relevant authorities in Nigeria for further consideration.

Ambassador Braimah Visits Vlatacom Institute
Tuesday, 15th September 2026 — Ambassador Abasi Braimah, non-resident Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria accredited to the Republic of Serbia, visited Vlatacom Institute, Serbia's first private research and development institute in information and communication technology, where he and his delegation were received by Prof. Dr. Milorad Obradović, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Associate Professor Ivan Vulić, PhD (Colonel, Retired), Advisor to the President, CEO. Founded in Belgrade in 1997, Vlatacom Institute specializes in biometric identification systems, secure communications, and electro-optical solutions, and is recognized as one of the leading ICT development institutions in Southeastern Europe. The Ambassador and his team were taken on a tour of the company and given product demonstrations.

Abasi Ogwime Braimah held his inaugural meeting with the Nigerian community in Serbia, including Nigerian students, introducing himself and addressing consular issues affecting Nigerians in the country — with a focus on student welfare and a call for all Nigerians in Serbia to register with the Embassy. 🇳🇬🇷🇸

Ambassador Braimah Meets Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Monday, 14th September 2026 — Following the presentation of his Letters of Credence, H.E. Engr. Abasi Braimah, non-resident Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria accredited to the Republic of Serbia, and his team held a meeting with a team from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, led by Mr. Đorđe Živanović, Adviser to the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Ambassador was accompanied by Minister Plenipotentiary Mrs. Vivienne Ekwora Ogonyi and First Secretary/Head of Chancery Mr. Mukhtar Abubakar. Chief Richard Lamia, Chairman of the Berkeley Hotel Chain, was also present.
Discussions focused on strengthening economic and commercial relations between Nigeria and Serbia, with particular emphasis on promoting bilateral trade and investment opportunities. Both sides explored possible areas of cooperation between Nigerian and Serbian businesses, including business-to-business linkages, investment facilitation, and the exchange of information on opportunities in both markets. The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss ways of encouraging greater private-sector engagement and identifying practical initiatives that could contribute to increased trade, investment, and mutually beneficial economic cooperation between the two countries.
