On 20 May 2026, the Chargé d’Affaires (CDA a.i.) met with the Hungarian Muslim Community (MME) Association, led by Dr. Sheikh Al-Qudaimi Fares, Imam of the Budapest Mosque, to discuss potential collaboration between the Embassy and the association.

The meeting included constructive engagement regarding the welfare of the Muslim community, including the Malaysian diaspora in Hungary.

The CDA a.i. also proposed an initiative for the Islamic Association of Hungary to collaborate with Nasyrul Quran to print a Hungarian translation of the Al-Quran for local distribution. Nasyrul Quran is the largest Quran printing center in Southeast Asia and the second-largest in the world (surpassed only by the King Fahd Complex in Madinah), serving as a global hub for Islamic research, printing, and distribution.
