On 5 August 2026, Mr. Norafizan Mustaffa, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of Malaysia attended a farewell dinner held in honour of H.E. Mr. François Lafrenière, Ambassador of Canada to Hungary, at the Residence of H.E. Mr. Phrommes Bhaholpolbhayuhasena, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand.

The dinner brought together members of the diplomatic corps to bid farewell to Ambassador Lafrenière and to acknowledge his contributions to the diplomatic community in Hungary. The Embassy of Malaysia wishes him every success in his future endeavours.

👟 The Bazaar will be held at the Embassy’s garden/lawn area, so comfortable shoes are recommended.

On 23 July 2026, Mr. Norafizan Mustaffa, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Malaysia in Budapest, together with fellow ASEAN Heads of Mission (Philippines, Lao PDR, Viet Nam, Thailand, and Indonesia), paid a courtesy call on H.E. Dr. Anita Orbán, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary.

The discussion focused on ASEAN priorities and advancing bilateral relations between ASEAN Member States and Hungary.

During the session, the CDA a.i. reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to strengthening existing bilateral economic ties, as well as exploring high-potential sectors such as electric vehicles (EVs) and battery ecosystems, digitalization, green energy and renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, and food security.

Pada 16 Julai 2026, Encik Norafizan Mustaffa, Kuasa Usaha Sementara (CDA a.i.) Kedutaan Besar Malaysia di Budapest, telah mengadakan mesyuarat bersama Cik Erika Kenyeres (Peneraju Jualan Antarabangsa) dan Cik Edina Benyo (Pengurus Akaun Utama) daripada Kerox Ltd. Kerox Ltd. merupakan salah sebuah pengeluar terkemuka dunia dari Hungary yang menghasilkan seramik industri termaju dan komponen plastik untuk sistem paip.

Antara perkara utama yang dibincangkan termasuklah meneroka peluang pelaburan bagi membuka hab pemasangan Kerox di Malaysia. CDA a.i. juga telah menjemput syarikat berkenaan untuk mengadakan lawatan perniagaan ke Malaysia bagi meninjau sendiri ekosistem pelaburan tempatan. Di samping itu, CDA a.i. turut memberikan taklimat berhubung Pameran Halal Antarabangsa Malaysia (MIHAS 2026) dan menjemput Kerox Ltd. untuk menyertai MIHAS 2026.

On 16 July 2026, Mr. Norafizan Mustaffa, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Malaysia in Budapest, held a meeting with Ms. Erika Kenyeres (International Sales Lead) and Ms. Edina Benyo (Key Account Manager) of Kerox Ltd. Kerox Ltd. is a world-leading Hungarian manufacturer of advanced industrial ceramics and plastic plumbing components.

Among the key matters discussed was exploring investment opportunities to establish a Kerox assembly hub in Malaysia. The CDA a.i. also invited the company to undertake a business visit to Malaysia to personally observe the local investment ecosystem. Furthermore, the CDA a.i. provided a briefing regarding the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2026) and invited Kerox Ltd. to participate in MIHAS 2026.

On 11 July 2026, Mr. Norafizan bin Mustaffa, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Malaysia in Budapest, attended the Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Semmelweis University.
The Embassy values its warm and longstanding relationship with Semmelweis University, a partnership that continues to grow, with the University preparing to welcome UCSI University this August for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The Embassy looks forward to supporting this collaboration and the continued strengthening of academic ties between Malaysia and Hungary.

On 1 July 2026, Mr. Norafizan Mustaffa, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. (CDA a.i.), Embassy of Malaysia in Budapest, alongside ASEAN Heads of Mission from Thailand, the Philippines, Lao PDR, Indonesia, and Vietnam, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Ambassador Klára Breuer, the recently appointed State Secretary for Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary.

The meeting reflects the close cooperation between ASEAN and Hungary in driving strategic partnerships forward. Discussions began with a briefing on the Philippines' ASEAN Chairmanship and Hungary’s accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC).

On the bilateral front, the CDA a.i. emphasized Malaysia’s readiness to build technology-driven partnerships and explore new areas of cooperation with Hungary, including:
