🔥FIRES Workshop 2026-2 at HQ MND-C

HQ Multinational Division Centre hosted its second FIRES Workshop of 2026, bringing together 26 persons from 6 nations.

Joint Fires Support Element personnel, subject matter experts and staff officers from subordinate units and affiliated formations from Croatia🇭🇷, the Czech Republic🇨🇿, Hungary🇭🇺, Italy🇮🇹, Slovakia🇸🇰, and Spain🇪🇸 focused on strengthening coordination and interoperability in the planning and employment of fires at divisional level, while providing an opportunity to further develop common procedures and exchange professional experience across the multinational fires community.

📌Key topics discussed included:
🎯Land Targeting Process and operational experience;
📋Division-level Fire Support and Targeting products;
🔥Fire Support planning, coordination and procedures;
✈Airspace management and integration;
🗣️Exchange of lessons identified and best practices.

Through theoretical sessions, computer-based practical exercises and professional discussions, attendants practiced the coordination of fire support and targeting activities and further synchronised procedures between HQ MND-C, subordinate units and affiliated formations.

🤝The workshop reinforced multinational cooperation and highlighted the importance of integrating fires capabilities with manoeuvre and other joint effects to support effective divisional-level operations.

🇵🇹 We welcomed a delegation from Portugal’s National Defence Committee, led by Mr. Pedro Pessanha.

During the visit, the delegation witnessed first-hand the high level of readiness, professionalism and cohesion of the Portuguese contingent, fully integrated into NATO’s multinational force in Slovakia.

Their contribution highlights Portugal’s commitment to the Alliance and reinforces our shared determination to defend and protect every Ally.

🎖️Recognising commitment and achievement at HQ MND-C
Our newcomers were welcomed by DCOM HQ MND-C Brigadier General Dražen RESSLER at an All-Hands Call yesterday. The event was also an opportunity to recognise the people who make HQ MND-C stronger every day.

Eight members of our multinational staff were promoted, recognising their continued professionalism, dedication and service. 🫡 A further 17 international staff members received appreciation for their contributions — including those marking significant time served in the military and those representing our Headquarters at sporting events.

These moments are about more than ranks, medals or certificates. They are about recognising commitment, professional excellence and the willingness to contribute beyond the everyday duties of our mission.

🌐In a multinational Headquarters, every individual contribution matters. Together, they strengthen the cohesion🔗, readiness⚡️ and team spirit 👥 that define HQ MND-C.

A multinational team from HQ MND-C took part in the demanding 31st International Military Climb to Mount Kriváň, at 2,495 metres in the High Tatras, a majestic peak widely revered as the national symbol of Slovakia.
Organized by the Association of Slovak Soldiers and the Slovak Special Operations Forces Command (SVK SOCOM), the event brought together various allied components.
Reflecting the core identity of HQ MND-C, the team was comprised of two Hungarian and two Slovakian staff members – representing two of the framework nations of our Headquarters. This joint ascent highlighted the unity, shared history, and cooperative spirit between these two nations.
Beyond its high symbolic value, the rugged mountain trek provided an excellent environment for practical team building and strengthening military comradeship.
The HQ MND-C team shared the trek with other multinational units on the slopes, including the Slovakian FLF. The team linked up informally with BG Norbert HRIB, Slovak Deputy Chief of Defence and BG Dušan KOŠÚT, Deputy Commander of SVK SOCOM, who expressed their sincere appreciation for the team’s presence and active participation.
Looking forward, this successful expedition may lay a strong foundation for continued joint activities.

Celebrating the Strength Beyond the Service!

HQ MND-C hosted a Family Day dedicated to the soldiers and their loved ones, with our new commander, Major General László Antal attending the event.

The programme highlighted the essential role families play in supporting our service members. Thanks to the stable and dependable support provided by their loved ones, our soldiers are able to carry out their duties with commitment, resilience and professionalism.

In his remarks, the Commander expressed his sincere gratitude to the families for their continued support, patience and perseverance. He emphasized that their encouragement provides a strong and reliable home front for the soldiers serving at HQ MND-C.

A wide range of activities made the event enjoyable for all generations. Children were welcomed with face painting, a bird flight demonstration, a spectacular bubble show and various sports competitions. Meanwhile, the adults enjoyed a performance by the Székesfehérvár Military Band, which contributed to the festive atmosphere of the day.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for our HQ MND-C community to spend time together and to recognize the invaluable contribution of military families. Their strength, understanding and steadfast support remain an essential foundation of successful military service.

A new chapter for NATO Multinational Battle Group Hungary!

Following a year of dedicated service, the HDF 30th MIBDE contingent has handed over its responsibilities to the incoming personnel from HDF 1st ABDE during a ceremony held at Újmajor.

The successful rotation marks not only a change of personnel, but also the continuity of a key NATO deterrence and defence capability in Hungary. Throughout their tenure, Hungarian, Croatian, Italian and Turkish forces worked together as a multinational team, demonstrating readiness, interoperability and a strong commitment to NATO’s collective defence.

Under the operational control of HQ MND-C, NATO FLF BG HUN contributes to strengthening the Alliance’s eastern flank and remains prepared to conduct assigned tasks as part of NATO’s integrated deterrence and defence posture.

COM HQ MND-C Major General László ANTAL thanked the departing soldiers for their professionalism and commitment, and wished the incoming Tata-based contingent every success in their mission.
