The threat of a strong El Niño in 2026 brings severe wildfire risks to orangutan habitats across Kalimantan. 🌿🔥
Drawing on hard-learned lessons from the devastating 2015–2016 fires, BOS Foundation is taking proactive action through:

- Daily satellite and drone hotspot monitoring.
- Upgraded firefighting infrastructure and routine ground patrols.
- Community-led firefighting task forces and cross-sector collaboration.


When it comes to wildfires, prevention will always be more effective than recovery.

Scratching is a normal part of an orangutan's daily behavior. It helps relieve irritation caused by insects, parasites, or debris caught in their hair, while also supporting skin and coat maintenance. Like many primates, orangutans spend time grooming themselves to keep their bodies healthy.
