Books For Bali Project

Donating books to the local community through Ganesha Bookshop in Bali. To foster literacy and a love of reading in the Balinese community.

We have been donating books to local libraries and schools since 2004. Books for Bali Project was founded by Ganesha Bookshop in Bali and together with like-minded people has been able to donate thousands of books to local schools, libraries, learning centres and orphanages in Bali and surrounding Indonesian Islands.

Once again good people making a difference to the world of Balinese children. Today we thank Chris Marjason from Australia for purchasing books at Ganesha Bookshop in Ubud and donating them to the Books for Bali Project. Every book finds its way to the hands of eager readers in Bali.

Customers of Ganesha Bookshop are still supporting the Books for Bali Project with purchases of suitable children's books for our local schools, libraries and our very own mini library.

Thank you to Allysia Gerard for participating in the support for this project. Your books will find their way to the hands of Balinese Children and give them much pleasure.

Robin Driscoll has stopped by Ganesha Bookshop to support our Books for Bali Project. She purchased a couple of appropriate books and these will now make their way into the eager hands of Balinese Children.

Our program is simple and effective and we have been passing on book donations since 2004. We never thought that it would have such an impact but are delighted to witness the changing attitude to reading in our community.

This is our free mini library attached to Ganesha Bookshop in Ubud. Thank you to Elisabeth Rosalie for her kind donation of a copy of The Little Prince - in Balinese. This will be a big hit with the local children.

It's always a delight to witness a child reading a book on our doorstep. We have a free mini library box just by the door and children are welcome to come and read or borrow a book to take home.

Our mission has always been to foster the love of reading in our local community.

Books for Bali Project and Ganesha Bookshop supporters have donated many many fine children's books to local schools and libraries around Bali.

Alice Kranolisova has kindly donated these books to our project and soon they will be in the hands of our local Balinese children.
