9 KNB Scholarship Awardees Graduate at the 2026 Degree Appreciation Ceremony for Universitas Indonesia International Students
Universitas Indonesia (UI) hosted "The 2026 Degree Appreciation Ceremony for UI International Students" on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the Makara Art Center, UI Depok Campus. The event was held to honor around 80 international students from 21 countries who have successfully completed their degree programs at UI, including nine awardees of the Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) Scholarship.
The ceremony was officially opened with welcoming remarks from the Rector of Universitas Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU. In his speech, the Rector emphasized the importance for graduates to continuously contribute and create a positive impact across all levels—from their families and local communities to their countries and global civilization.
Attended by university stakeholders, embassy representatives, and educational partners, the event was not only a celebration of academic success, but also a strategic momentum to strengthen Universitas Indonesia's international networks and partnerships. The ceremony concluded with a congratulatory session, a group photo, and a networking reception for graduates and distinguished guests.
The nine KNB Scholarship awardees graduating in this cohort are:
1. Ahmed Yahya Ali Abdullah Mughir (Yemen) – GPA 3.25
2. Maram Alarnab (Syria) – GPA 3.29
3. Keo Sopheak (Cambodia) – GPA 3.48
4.Melsiora Saniba Fernandes (Timor-Leste) – GPA 3.56
5.Zuhairee Pohvee (Thailand) – GPA 3.29
6. Shah Hussain (Pakistan) – GPA 3.76
7. Donia Abdel Kader Abdel Fattah Abdel Rahman (Egypt) – GPA 3.70
8. Hamza Khamis Kombo (Tanzania) – GPA 3.62
9. Bakari Khatib Faki (Tanzania) – GPA 3.57
Shah Hussain, one of the KNB awardees, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the University, lecturers, the International Office, and the KNB management team for their unwavering support throughout his academic journey.
