AHK World Business Outlook Spring 2026
Global Pressure. Indonesian Confidence

The AHK World Business Outlook Spring 2026 shows a difficult global environment for German companies. Across markets, businesses are facing weaker demand, rising costs, supply-chain pressure and geopolitical uncertainty.

Indonesia stands out.

companies in are far more confident about their own business prospects than the regional picture would suggest. According to the statistical appendix, 57% rate their current business situation as good, while 60% expect their business to improve over the next twelve months.

The regional comparison is striking. Indonesia’s own-business outlook stands at +54, compared with +28 for Asia-Pacific excluding China, +15 for Vietnam, +3 for Singapore and -4 for Thailand.

Not immune, but resilient.

Indonesia is not untouched by global risks. Yet companies here report lower concern over energy prices, raw material costs and supply-chain disruptions than peers in several neighbouring markets. Their main concerns lie elsewhere: economic policy, exchange rates and demand.

For German-Indonesian business, the message is clear: Indonesia remains a market of opportunity. Turning that confidence into long-term investment will depend on predictability, stability and strong local partnerships.
