🎉 Volunteer Call-Out for Ballina Salmon Festival 2026 Grand Finale! 🎉

We’re wrapping up Ballina Salmon Festival 2026 in style on Sat. 18th July with a spectacular Grand Finale on Emmett Street -- featuring live music, great entertainment, and our traditional Fireworks Display starting from 9:00pm.

To make this unforgettable night run smoothly, we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us between 7:30pm and midnight to:

✅ Help with event set-up
✅ Assist during the festivities
✅ Take down barriers and help with the post-event clean-up

Volunteer Call-Out: Help Make Ballina Heritage Day 2026 Unforgettable!

Ballina’s beloved National Heritage Day is back on Wednesday, July 15th, 2026, and we need your help to make it the best one yet!

Following the huge success of previous years, this year’s Heritage Day promises to be even more immersive, with the town’s four main streets transformed into a vibrant celebration of tradition, music, and ancient crafts. To ensure the day runs smoothly and delivers an authentic experience for visitors and locals alike, we’re calling for enthusiastic volunteers to join the team.

If you’d like to be part of this special community event, please consider signing up for one (or more!) of the available volunteer shifts:

🕕 6:00am - 9:00am: Set-Up Crew
🕙 10:00am - 2:00pm: Heritage Day Ambassadors
🕑 2:00pm - 6:00pm: Heritage Day Ambassadors
🕕 5:30pm - 7:30pm: Event Clean-Up Team

This year for the Ballina Salmon Festival the Teddy Bears' Picnic takes place on Sunday 12th July in Tom Ruane Park.

The highlight of the festivals jam packed children’s programme, it is the biggest day in the children’s social calendar. With kiddies rides, children’s entertainment, live music, sweets and treats, games, pet farm, the famous festival train, the day is endless and the fun never stops! Children can also enjoy the award winning park facilities in Tom Ruane Park, voted in the Independents top ten parks in Ireland.

Volunteers are need to assist from 12.00pm - 5.00pm. But even if you can volunteer for 1 hour your help would be greatly appreciated.

Flower Planting Volunteer – Ballina Community Hospital

Help brighten the grounds of Ballina Community Hospital by assisting with flower planting on:

🌼 Wednesday, 24th June | 7:00pm – 8:00pm
🌼 Saturday, 27th July | 10:00am – 12:00pm

Volunteers will help plant flowers and enhance the outdoor spaces for patients, visitors, and staff to enjoy. No experience is necessary—just a willingness to lend a hand. Even one hour of your time on either day would be greatly appreciated.

🎨 VOLUNTEERS WANTED – SUPPORT CREATIVE WORKSHOPS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN MAYO!

Looking for a rewarding way to give back to your community this year?

Helium, Ireland’s national children’s arts and health charity, is seeking volunteers to support a series of creative workshops for children and young people living with lifelong physical health conditions.

As a volunteer, you'll help create a welcoming and inclusive environment where young people can explore their creativity, build confidence, make friends, and most importantly—have fun! No artistic experience is needed; just a friendly attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to support others.

• Make a real difference in the lives of children and young people
• Gain valuable experience working alongside professional artists and experienced staff
• Develop skills in communication, teamwork, inclusion, and youth engagement
