Join Booker Prize-shortlisted author Colm Tóibín live as he explores the stories, places and questions behind his compelling new release, The News from Dublin.

In this exclusive online event, Colm will share insights into his latest work, his writing process, and the ideas and influences that shape his storytelling. The session will include a live Q&A, giving borrowers the chance to ask questions about The News from Dublin, as well as acclaimed works such as Brooklyn, Long Island and The Magician.

Emerging Worlds: Creativity, Nature & Making

Join us for a joyful day of hands‑on activities celebrating creativity, nature, and imagination as part of Crinniú na nÓg.

Inspired by the season of growth and new beginnings, children and families are invited to explore how stories, movement, making, and the natural world connect. From 10:00 to 13:00, Dromahair library will host a range of free workshops including a makerspace sessions, creative crafts, a biodiversity workshop, and a story‑based yoga session for children.

From storytelling through movement, to making and building with your hands, this day is all about curiosity, creativity, and discovering the many ways we grow — inside and out.

All activities are free and designed, especially for children. Drop in for one session or spend the day exploring!

Schedule:
Story Yoga: 10.00-11.00
Exploring shapes and stories through movement with Aoife.
Biodiversity workshop 11.00 -12.00
Many species, many shapes, many ways of living with Fiona.
Craft session 12.00 - 13.00
Transforming materials — shaping, building, discovering with Mary.
Makerspace / vinyl press (Throughout the day, contact the library to book a slot)
Creative tools as modern storytelling with Stuart.
