Ballinasloe Social Services BSS is a charity, registered with the Charity Regulator. Its RCN is 20025717.

It started in 1972, due to the vision of dedicated volunteers answering a need for services to help others. It provides Day Care,Chiropody, Meals on Wheels, Pre-School Services to the people of Ballinasloe and its environs

Thank you to Zara, Mary Lou, Liam Lynch & Robert Riddell from Canal House for calling to us again this year. It's the 3rd year in a row Canal House have continued their window box project for Ballinasloe Social Services. Filled with wonderful colours of flowers to brighten up our outdoor area.

If anyone has unwanted items of clothing you can bag them and bring them to Ballinasloe Social Services. We benefit from the cash for clobber service and they will be calling to collect bags on 03rd June!!

We are delighted that we could arrange another social outing for some of those attending our Day Centre, all thanks to funds from AIB Community Fund. Dinner in Gullane's Hotel Hotel and a highly entertaining concert at Ballinasloe Town Hall Theatre. They were entertained by Ballinasloe Town Band, BARA Singers, Rachel Goode Music & The Grey Lake String Quartet. A very enjoyable way to spend the afternoon, all beautifully narrated by one of our great BSS Volunteers Maire Hughes. The evening was organised by the gifted Marie Power.

In receiving funds from the AIB Community Fund part of our plan is to ensure those attending our Day Centre get to enjoy social outings in smaller groups at no cost to them. Our second of those trips happened Monday 12th May. Clients supported by staff and volunteers visited Portumna Castle and enjoyed dinner out afterwards in Duffy's Killimor. They were blessed with good weather

Join us for a free Community Sensory Play Morning on Wednesday 27th May 2026 from 11:00am–12:15pm in the Shearwater Ballroom. This welcoming session is designed for babies, toddlers, and young children to explore a range of engaging sensory activities in a relaxed and inclusive environment. Families can enjoy music, textures, lights, movement, and creative play while connecting with others in the community. Everyone is welcome to come along, play, and have fun together.
