Over 5 different locations we had events from nature walks to heritage talks and plenty of dancing and tunes in between!

The Ginger & Wild Café at the Ballycroy Visitor Centre will be closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday this coming weekend. 12th -14th June.

The Café will reopen Monday the 15th of June.

We have another full day of events taking place today.
The Circus Science tour arrives at the Ballycroy Visitor Centre today with free family friendly events running from 10.30am until 3pm.
At Bangor, the Home to Erris hike along the Bangor trail kicks off at 11am,
Also at Bangor there will be sheep dog demonstrations and sheep shearing at 2pm,
This will be followed by a biodiversity workshop with the woman's group, after all the family will be entertained with the amazing magic show with Dan, followed by music and light refreshments. All events will start at the Community centre
Moving onto the evening events at the Erris Coast Hotel , there will be light refreshments at 7pm followed by Irish dancing performances by the Moffatts school of Irish dancing. After this we will have a talk and presentation about the Corncrake and the amazing work that has been carried out on the Belmullet peninsula by local farmers and the corncrake team to create and protect habitats for this amazing bird.
A free bus will ferry us to the Corncrake site to listen to the birds call and return us back to the Erris Coast Hotel after.
All events are free and open to everyone.

Please note that for our Rambling house and boxty event tomorrow at Letterkeen, there will be a free shuttle bus leaving Bangor at 2pm, stopping at Kennagh church at 2.20 and Shramore Church at 2.45 to take people to the events. This bus will also ferry people in to the Bothy Carpark from the Srahrevagh Carpark from 2.50pm and will return people back to their pick up locations after the events at 5pm.

Our FREE National Park Shuttle Bus will be running again from Tuesday 2nd of June to the end of August.

Running from Tuesday to Saturday for June, July and August 9am – 7pm.

No bus Sunday and Monday.

This year the bus will run from Bangor Erris to Westport via the east of the park, taking in a request stop at Derry Lower (Western Way joins R312)^ and then Srahrevagh/Letterkeen (Srahrevagh Car Park*) this is to facilitate transport for walkers that may wish to do the Western Way/Bangor Trail or stay at one of our designated campsites** overnight.

It will then continue to Newport (Circle K Express Station) and Westport (Maxol Service Station, Newport Rd) before returning back to Bangor Erris, via Newport again, Mulranny (Hotel Car Park), a request stop at Claggan Mountain Coastal Trail (Trail Car Park)^ and Ballycroy Visitor Centre.

There will be a late bus departing Westport at 18:05 servicing the trails along the east of the park back to Bangor Erris for 19:00, with request stops at Srahrevagh/Letterkeen^ and Derry Lower^.

We hope this service will enable you to make the most of the National Park whether you are taking in a short stroll and coffee at the Ballycroy Visitor Centre or embarking on the ambitious Bangor Trail!

Take note this is a new route this year with some stop changes.

*The Srahrevagh Car Park is before the Letterkeen Trailhead (on the right) coming from the south and after it (on the left) coming from the north.

What a fantastic celebration of the landscapes, wildlife, heritage, and communities that make the Wild Nephin region so special.

From guided walks and biodiversity talks to family-friendly activities and opportunities to connect with nature, this festival showcases the very best of one of Ireland’s most remarkable natural environments.
