Ballyheigue is a small coastal town in the north of Kerry which is a popular tourist destination, especially during the summer months. Our experienced u
nit, which is made up of local volunteers, primarily operating on the coast of Ballyheigue Bay and Kerry Head. Our volunteers are fully trained under Irish Coast Guard, R.N.L.I , and Irish Water Safety guidelines and are ready to respond to call outs 24/7. Our main aims are:
• To provide a comprehensive search, rescue & recovery service, both on land and at sea, to the immediate area around Ballyheigue.
• To ensure that personnel are given the skills and knowledge to enable them to carry out any and all duties that may be required of them related to search, rescue & recovery.
• To be able to carry out these duties in a professional manner giving due consideration to the health, safety and welfare of crew members and distressed persons alike. As a voluntary organisation providing a service to the local community, we are always looking for volunteers to join the crew.
