This is an on open invite for you and your child/children to join us in Ballymote Community Library on Saturday 6th June from 9.30am – 1.30pm for Cruinniú na nÓg 2026 National Day of FREE creativity for children and young people. 🎈

🔹 9.30am - 10.30am: Niall De Burca (All ages)🔹
(Walk in event for children and adults & no booking necessary)
Grab your seats and hang on tight, Niall de Búrca is coming to Sligo for Cruinniu na nÓg 2026! Join Niall for an exciting story telling performance, that will captivate audiences of all ages. Niall is a Scéalaí, a traditional storyteller from the west of Ireland. As a kid in Galway, he loved traditional tales of all kinds; nowadays he travels worldwide performing and facilitating workshops on traditional storytelling. His credo is the ancient proverb: Níór bhris focal maith fiacal riamh….A good word never broke a tooth!
🔹10.45 - 11.45 am: Jay Ryan (All 5-10)🔹
(Walk in event for children and adults & no booking necessary)
Everything is chaotic in Dr Jay’s laboratory as he tries to tame exploding plastic bottles and bring floating balls back to earth. Hosted by RTÉ childrens’ broadcaster Jay Ryan, expect chaos and a good dose of science all served with the showman’s touch! Dr Jay brings experiments to life with explosions, engineering marvels, and plenty of bangs, whooshes, and oohs.

Your child can collect their free ice cream voucher from the desk at time on Saturday 6th to get their 99 cone with sprinkles and syrup! 🍦

🔹12.30pm – 13.30pm: Sarah O' Keefe ‘The Anything-Can-Happen Story Workshop’ (Ages 6-10) – Booking Required 🔹
Join us for an Anything-Can-Happen Story Workshop where imagination runs wild! Children aged 6-10 will choose surprise story cards to invent a completely new adventure together, from dragons in haunted libraries to pirates discovering magical biscuits. Through interactive storytelling, games, and drawing, participants will help shape a ridiculous and unforgettable tale. Perfect for curious young creators who love stories, laughter, and big ideas. - Booked Required -
All events on the day are FREE and do not require booking (exception is the Sarah O' Keefe ‘The Anything-Can-Happen Story Workshop’)
