Is your child getting ready to start primary school in just a few weeks?🎒

To help children prepare for starting school, libraries are offering free book bags filled with specially chosen books and helpful resources.

Available from Ballymote Community Library and libraries nationwide.

Each bag includes:
💠Two books
💠A library card for children who don’t already have one
💠A My Little Library cardholder
💠Helpful tips and resources for parents

Bags are available in both Irish and English.

Part of the 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝟱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆, this initiative is a collaboration between public libraries, the Department of Rural and Community Development, and the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth.

We can’t wait to welcome all children starting primary school and their families to the library to collect their book bags and begin their library membership journey!

✨👶🏻 Summertime Toddler Play Time in Ballymote Community Library at 11am every Thursday 👶🏻✨

Reaching out to parents with little ones to join us in Ballymote Community Library this summer ☀️

On Thursdays, our library does not open to the public until 12pm so your child will have freedom to play, make friends and express themselves in an open environment reserved exclusively for toddlers and their parents.

🧶 This week Ballymote Community Library hosted a National Heritage Week event with Mary Cooper of Markree Woolcraft.🧶

Those attending enjoyed learning about traditional Irish wool crafts and seeing a live spinning demonstration from fleece to fibre.

Many thanks to Mary for sharing her knowledge and expertise, and to everyone who joined us and helped make the event such a success.

🤖📸 Microbit Robotics Workshops with FabLab! 📸🤖

What a fantastic day we had yesterday at Ballymote Community Library as young participants got hands-on with coding, robotics, and problem-solving during our Microbit Robotics Workshops facilitated by FabLab!

The children explored the exciting world of technology, learned new coding skills, and brought their creations to life through fun and interactive activities.

A huge thank you to Stuart from FabLab and to all the children who took part and made the workshops such a success. 💡👏
