Four more beautiful Hooded crows released this week! These 4 came from our fellow rehabber in west cork and have absolutely thrives here in the soft release aviary. We will supplementary feed them for a few weeks❤️ Goodbye beautiful babies ❤️

We thought we were getting away lightly this spring, but just as I said it a whole load of babies end up arriving !
First was little Squish the Magpie whos tree was cut down and subsequently the nest destroyed!
Next in was Porridge the Hooded crow(a first for us here to get a Hoody in as a fledgling!)
Porridge has White Feather Syndrome so will be with us for some time yet!
And then we got a call about Squash, another hooded crow baby! Squash fell from quite a height and has sustained some neurological issues but is just the sweetest little baby and will more than likely stay with us for life! Not that we’re complaining😍

We are now in the process of building Malachi and Christy brand new larger aviaries but we are struggling with costs! I will bump up our go fund me if anyone has anything at all spare to help us out we would be eternally greatful!

Introducing Malachi😍
Malachi and his friend Christy have come to live here at Castlelack from our good friends Denis and Rosie in Animal Magic!
Both birds have injuries which have deemed them unreleasbable unfortunately!

But, they are very happy chappies here with full bellies and safe, airy aviaries for as long as they both live! We are absolutely infatuated with these two stunning Ravens and I can’t express how lucky I feel to be given the chance to look after them!

Malachi is a right chatty fella! We have our daily chats every morning when he sings me the songs of his people! He is also very handsome if I do say so myself 😍

It’s with a heavy heart that we have to announce the premature passing of Tumbles!
Tumbles was our second bird to ever be admitted to our little rescue and due to a badly broken wing could never be released to the wild! Himself and Wingaling became a bonded pair and even nested together this spring!
Dave and I are absolutely heart broken to have to say goodbye to our dear boy, but at least his suffering has now ended thanks to the very caring vet Aili.

Today was release day for our 2022 orphans and rehabs! We are releasing 3 rooks and 3 jackdaws to add to the other adult corvids we released earlier this year.
We kept back two rooks that are just not thriving and have yet to finish their moult, and our adult Buzzard who unfortunately will be a non release!
