On Friday 10th July long-serving Firefighter Jerome Travers hung up his Uniform, Boots, Helmet and Pager for the last time.
Jerome joined in 1992 and the Travers family have always been a big part of the Fire Brigade in the town since the time that it was voluntary with a Trailer Pulled Pump to the modern day service we have today.
His skills and experience will be a huge loss for us. His mentoring to other firefighters and to the new recruits will be missed.
We always say the Fire Service is a second family to all firefighters and Jerome was known to us all as the father of our brigade ( really cause of his age π ) , but seriously we all looked up to him.
Thanks Jerome for your serious commitment and dedication to our great team and to the people of Bundoran and surrounding areas over the years.
Enjoy your new found freedom from the pager, the peace now to get a nights sleep, no interruptions from plumbing jobs and no more mad running when the pager went off walking the dogs in the mornings.
Dawn you now have Jerome finally to yourself. ( At last says you π)
Sit back now and enjoy life Jerome and Dawn.
Oh and what we will miss mostβ¦. is the one liners that you would say in the station, after you found something out about a fireman, walk away smiling, waiting for the reaction from the crew. π
Donβt be a stranger to the station and Iβm sure we will meet you every day.
Thanks Jerome
