Conservation starts with understanding. Seeing animals up close offers a clearer sense of how they behave, interact, and rely on their environment. It’s through that understanding that long-term protection becomes possible.🐾

Wolves once moved freely across Ireland, shaping the land in ways that are still felt today.

At Wild Ireland, you can observe these animals up close - not just as individuals, but as part of a much larger story about conservation, coexistence, and the importance of predators in the natural world🌳✨

At Wild Ireland, conservation is rooted in education and awareness. By learning how species interact with their environment, we gain a better understanding of what it takes to protect it. Earth Day is a moment to reflect on that responsibility.

Happy Earth Day from all of us at Wild Ireland.🌎🌱

✨ Congratulations to Tara McDermott, our Employee of the Month! ✨

Tara joined the team at Wild Ireland in August last year, bringing with her a real passion for animals and a strong desire to care for them. Since then, she has become a valued member of our animal care team, always eager to learn more about the animals and their needs.

Tara especially loves spending time with our wallabies, and her enthusiasm shines through in everything she does. Full of joy and positivity, she brings great energy to the team and is always dedicated to her role.

Tara is also a fantastic help during the festive season, lending a hand to Santa when he visits with his Arctic friends, a role she takes on with the same enthusiasm and team spirit she shows all year round.

We’re very lucky to have Tara with us, be sure to say hello if you see her on your next visit! 🦘❄️🌿

Update on our beautiful Tundra, the Arctic fox! 🦊❤️
She has had a little ongoing eye issue called entropion. Basically, her eyelid was rolling inwards so the fur and lashes were rubbing against her eyeball, making it sore and irritated.
The amazing vets performed surgery to correct it by adjusting the eyelid so it sits properly again.

We’re so relieved and can’t wait to welcome her back to her habitat here at Wild Ireland. She’ll be exploring and playing in no time.
Thanks to everyone who’s been thinking of her, your support means the world to our team and our animals.
