Our history dates back millions of years to when a glacier from the west of Scotland carved out Carlingford Lough, depositing large granite boulders and exposing the amazing geology of our region. There are a wide range of shops - boutiques, crafts, antiques, food, ice cream and treats as well as a 1st class butchers, Savages, and a general store. We have the Carlingford Lough Greenway and you can rent regular or electric bikes at the start of the Greenway from OnYerBike. Sailing is very popular and there is a Sailing Centre at the Marina and a sailing club by the harbour. Greenore Gold course is just 5km away, established when the Dundalk, Newry & Greenore Railway built a village at the ferry port across to Holyhead. Mountain bikers have a huge range of options on both sides of the mountain and there is a Cyclocross course nearby.
