Carndonagh Fire Brigade - DL13

Carndonagh Fire Brigade - DL13 Carndonagh Fire Station is a retained fire station with a crew of 12. We provide cover for the North We are a retained fire station with a crew of 9.

Carndonagh Fire Station, call sign DELTA LIMA 13, is one of the 16 fire stations in Donegal under the command of the Donegal Fire Service. Our crew of 9, provides cover 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We also provide back up support to our neighboring stations in Buncrana (DL-12) and Moville (DL-14) when needed. We provide cover for the North Inishowen area, as far north as Malin H

ead, taking in Culdaff, Clonmany, Urris and extending out to Gleneely, Quigley's Point and Drumfries. We are a single pump station, meaning that we have one appliance, call sign Delta Lima 13 Alpha 1 (DL13A-1), along with our jeep, call sign Delta Lima 13 Julliet 1 (DL13J-1). On average we would attend 70-80 calls a year, ranging from all types of fires (domestic, industrial, gorse, vehicles, arson), road traffic collisions, assisting the other emergency services (Ambulance, Garda Siochana, Coast Guard) to name but a few. The existing station we have was built in 2004, before which our Old Station was situated on the Malin Road, were the roundabout is now. This is now currently used by the Auxiliary Fire Service of the Civil Defence.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™ Paddy and Orla from Mc Grory's of Culdaff, presenting sponsorship to retired station sub-officer Eunan Doherty in aid of the Aoibheann's Pink Tie Charity cycle ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

A huge thanks to Mc Grorys of Culdaff for their continued support.

Eunan, along with Seamus "The Mason" McLaughlin & Shaun "Bill" Mc Laughlin will join over 140 firefighters from across Ireland and the USA taking on an epic challenge: cycling the iconic Wild Atlantic Way covering over 460km's โ€“ all in support of Aoibheannโ€™s Pink Tie , Irelandโ€™s national childrenโ€™s cancer charity.

Every kilometre pedalled is for the brave children fighting cancer every single day. Donegal Firefighters are proud to dedicate all funds raised to Aoibheannโ€™s Pink Tie, supporting their work to build accommodation in Dublin for families of children undergoing treatment.

๐Ÿš’ Support Your Local Firefighters ๐Ÿš’

Three familiar faces from your local fire station โ€” Seamus "The Mason" McLaughlin, Shaun "Bill" McLaughlin and retired Station Sub-Officer Eunan Doherty โ€” will soon be swapping helmets and fire hoses for bikes as they take on the Wild Atlantic Way Cycle 2025.

Eunan is a retired Sub Station Officer after 26 years of service, Seamus is a well-known face in the community and a keen cyclist, while Shaun Bill has taken on many endurance challenges before, but says this one is special. Together, they are proud to represent our community in support of children and families who need it most.

This September, they will join 140 firefighters from across Ireland and the New York Fire Department (FDNY) to cover an incredible 442km from Newcastle West, Limerick to the 9/11 Memorial Garden in Kinsale, Cork.

The event honours the memory of firefighters who gave their lives on 9/11, while raising vital funds for charity. Our American colleagues will be raising money to support firefighters affected by 9/11, while here in Donegal, every cent we raise will go directly to Aoibheann's Pink Tie โ€” Irelandโ€™s National Childrenโ€™s Cancer Charity.

Aoibheannโ€™s Pink Tie is Irelandโ€™s National Childrenโ€™s Cancer Charity. They provide vital practical and emotional support to families of children battling cancer. Right now, they are working on an incredible project โ€” building family accommodation in Dublin so parents can stay close to their child while they undergo treatment. No parent should have to face the heartbreak of being far from their child at such a time, and this new facility will be a lifeline for families all across Ireland, including Donegal.

๐Ÿ’› Please support your local firefighters and help us make a difference. Every donation, big or small, will bring hope, comfort, and strength to families who need it most.
