INDOOR ENVIRONMENT:
One of the most positive aspects of Snugboro Playschool is our substantial indoor space where the children can display their gymnastic, running and dancing skills. We have a spacious colourful child centred classroom with well planned activities that suit the needs of every child. We offer a large choice of activities to the children. ydough, Construction, Puzzles, Dress up and many more. We are committed to preparing children for their transition to Primary school for e.g. developing Literacy and Numeracy skills, introduction to Irish, drawing ,colouring, cutting ,gluing and pre-writing skills , organisational skills and much more. Children's oral language is enhanced through drama where we also introduce the children to non-verbal communication such as mime and sign language. Drama increases a child's confidence and their overall well being. We encourage a knowledge of sound, repetition and pattern through the medium of music, song and rhyme and dance. OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENT:
We believe in the holistic approach to child development and feel outdoor activity plays a crucial role in the overall well being and learning of the child. We promote a love of the outdoors and the importance of physical exercise. Our outdoor area offers the children a rare opportunity to experience the sights, sounds, smells and textures of a natural environment. We have sand and water features which are soothing,sensory, tactile, and offers the opportunity for messy play. We have a tunnel made from recycled tyres, a climbing frame that offers challenge, risk and adventure. A children's house which encourages imaginary and role play. The pebbled area and wooden logs and balancing beams offers the children the opportunity to develop co-ordination and balance. We have raised wooden planting boxes which inform children how to grow vegetable ,bulbs and plants and the importance of caring for what we grow. It connects the children to nature by exploring and thinking about the environment.
