Happy Poetry Day! ✨

We had a wonderful day today celebrating Poetry Day Ireland!

We started off bright and early this morning with poets, Mike Absalom and Christina Hennemann on the Tommy Marren Show on Midwest Radio. Christina and Mike read a selection of their poems around this year's theme of 'Home'. This event was a joint celebration of Bealtaine Festival and Poetry Day!

Then later in the afternoon, multi-disciplinary artists John Hoban and Isabela Basombrío Hoban celebrated Poetry Day at Castlebar Library with the launch of John's new CD and Isabela read a selection of her poems, with music, song and joyful stories woven throughout. What a wonderful way to spend the day ✨

We hope you enjoyed Poetry Day where ever you are today! ✨

Poetry Day is strategically funded by Mayo County Council and The Arts Council of Ireland.
