Potholes, Potholes, Potholes

The lack of roads funding provided by this and previous Governments is being highlighted on a daily basis with the appalling and deteriorating condition of our roads. Monaghan County Council engineers use the money provided well, but the amount is always way below what is needed. Many thanks to all of you who have highlighted road issues to me. I have been inundated and have logged all with the Council staff for repair. If you have an issue please let me know in the comments or by contacting me directly. I know Rosevale and Bree have particularly bad issues and these are being addressed in the coming weeks.

Lough Muckno Update
As an elected representative I try to provide relevant information to you all where I can. In relation to Lough Muckno a team of consultants have been working with stakeholders to devise an initial draft plan for Lough Muckno and Hope Castle. This was influenced by local views at the initial consultation phase. The first draft of this plan is complete and will be available to view in a public consultation in the Gatehouse on June 18. I have pushed relentlessly that public consultation and local buy in be an essential part of the process. Please be advised this is a draft plan only and changes will be made. Your input is essential and valued, so please come along to the Gatehouse on June 18 and have your say!!

I was delighted and honoured to welcome the absolute legend that is Paul McGrath to Blayney today. The admiration and love for this man is unparalleled and very evident today. He met the local legends of Blayney Rovers - a hugely successful local club with big plans for the future.

I was delighted to attend two local events with Matt Carthy TD driven by and celebrating volunteers. As Cathaoirleach of the Municipal District I was delighted to launch this weekends volunteer organised Carrick Street Festival on Friday, while in Iontas today it was an honour to attend a celebration of 10 years of Castleblayney First Responders. We are so lucky to have amazing volunteers making such a wonderful contribution to our communities. Well done to all, and your contribution is very much appreciated 👏👏

The role that local businesses play in our towns is vital - creating employment, providing essential services and contributing to our economy and communities. I was delighted to call to Brendan in BML Mechanics on the Monaghan road near Plant Hire. They are a great local business that take great pride in keeping your vehicle running smoothly, safely and efficiently. They use top class diagnostics, explain everything clearly and offer a full range of car servicing, maintenance, repairs and NCT preparation services. Please contact Brendan on 087 6201766 by phone or WhatsApp for all your motoring needs now including Breakdown and Recovery service. Best of luck to Brendan and all the team🚗

I am delighted to report that Monaghan County Council will commence construction work on The Castleblayney Market Square Project / Market House this summer. This has been a priority for me since being elected and especially as Cathaoirleach of the Municipal District. I could not be happier!! It has been a very long journey to get to this announcement. Many prople deserve great credit - Council staff and I must pay tribute in particular to former Councillors Jackie Crowe and Gary Carville who advocated for this project over their terms. This is a great day for Blayney!!

I could not be any prouder of the Monaghan team and management on such a wonderful performance yesterday. This young team were massive underdogs and took a highly fancied Armagh team to extra time. Congratulations to Armagh on their win but this is just the start for this new generation of Monaghan players. As ever we are right behind you⚪️🔵

To say I am delighted to see Dorothy winning this award and having her exceptional caring recognised is a massive understatement! I have known Dorothy forever and her caring, cheerful character shines thorough every time I meet her. This is so massively deserved. Well done Dorothy 👏 👏
