This leak I found last week at a factory in Co Meath was loosing 310000 litres a day. When we had it repaired we saved enough water to supply 920 homes for a day.

WHY O WHY.
I found and repaired a leak at a house belonging to a retired couple yesterday and I can't understand WHY the local Group Water Scheme (GWS) or ANY group GWS can't organise that every water meter is read at least once a year. This water meter has more than 6200 cubic meters of water gone through it. That is enough water to supply this retired couple for more than 50 years.
Irish Water claim that approximately 45% of water treated in this country is lost through leaks. At the moment Ireland is the 4 worst country in Europe to have water leaks. I think it would pay Irish Water and all GWS in this country to have someone read the water meters and if they show a very high reading have it checked out to see if a leak exists. This activity would go a long way to bring down the average
