Clonakilty Hunger Strike Commemoration Committee Remembering Irish Republicans who have died on Hunger Strike. E-mail: [email protected] and another a T.D. while on Hunger Strike during that fateful summer.

This committee was established in the Spring of 2011 to plan the 30th anniversary events of the 1981 Hunger Strike in Long Kesh, which resulted in the deaths of 10 brave Irish Republican Volunteers, one of whom was elected an M.P.

With an introduction by Síle Darragh, who commanded IRA women prisoners in Armagh Jail during the 1980 hunger strike, The Comrades is a unique collection by former prisoners who personally knew the men who died on hunger strike in 1974, 1976 and 1981.

The book is an important part of the history of prison struggle.
