HER Outdoors Week 2026 will take place across Ireland from Monday, August 10th to Sunday, August 16th, 2026.

Organised nationally by Sport Ireland, this annual initiative aims to celebrate, encourage, and increase visibility for women and girls of all ages and abilities to embrace the benefits of outdoor physical activity and try something new.

A huge thank you to Donegal Dragons for hosting such a fantastic regatta this weekend.🩷💙

Days like these remind us that dragon boating is about so much more than medals or finishing positions. It's about friendship, connection, teamwork and the incredible community that brings women together from all over Ireland.

To everyone who organised, volunteered, paddled and cheered from the shoreline – thank you for creating an atmosphere where everyone felt welcome.

Dragon boating continues to prove its value as more than just a sport. It is a pathway to health, recovery, confidence and belonging, particularly for breast cancer survivors and for women over 40 who are discovering new strength, resilience and friendships later in life.

Every paddle stroke represents determination, courage and the reminder that it's never too late to begin something that changes your life.

Congratulations to every club that took part. We leave with tired bodies, full hearts, new friendships and memories that will stay with us long after the boats are back in the shed.

As our Lough Rinn Dragons get ready to head to the Donegal Regatta this Saturday, we want to wish every paddler the very best of luck.

Days like these are about so much more than racing. They're about team spirit, camaraderie, friendship, and the incredible connections that are built both on and off the water with our dragon boating family around the country.

Our club reflects the support we give one another, the resilience we've built together, the hard work behind the scenes and the pride we have in representing our club.

We're also proud to showcase Leitrim dragon boating and Lough Rinn Dragons bringing a little piece of our community to another corner of Ireland.

Travel safely, paddle with heart, support one another, and most importantly, enjoy every moment.

Tonight's training session was a reminder that it's about so much more than fitness. It's about showing up for yourself, encouraging the woman beside you, and leaving a little stronger than when you arrived.

The energy on the pontoon was infectious. Every stroke, every exercise, reflected what Lough Rinn Dragons is all about—friendship, resilience, wellbeing, and belonging.

Some came to train. Some came to unwind. Whatever calls you, we hope you leave feeling lighter.

Here's to summer evenings on the water, strengthening our bodies, lifting each other up, and making memories along the way.
Thank you to everyone who came along and brought such fantastic spirit.

Well done and thank you to team member Katie for leading out the session. 💪
