🚴‍♂️ Excitement is building as the 71st edition of the Rás Tailteann rolls into Cork North-West this May!

Stage 2 of the famous race will finish in Banteer on Thursday, 21st May 2026, bringing a fantastic atmosphere and a major sporting occasion to the area. 🏁

The 192.7km stage from Rathmore to Banteer will see some of the best cycling talent pass through towns and villages across the region, with locals encouraged to come out and support the riders along the route.

This is a brilliant opportunity to showcase Banteer and the wider Cork North-West area to a national audience while enjoying a great day of sport and community spirit.

Over the last few days, members across Cork North West have been out on the doors delivering Easter Lilies and commemorative cards to homes across the constituency, marking the Centenary of the Easter Lily.

First introduced in 1926 by the women of Cumann na mBan, the Lily has been worn for 100 years to honour those who gave their lives for Irish freedom.

As we approach Easter, we encourage everyone to wear their Easter Lily with pride, in remembrance of those who gave their lives for Irish freedom.
