Unfortunately the weather is not on our side this weekend and we must announce the cancellation of this weekend's Muckross HOR. We will be exploring options for a rescheduled fixture in 2025.

Update 2 December 2024

The current weather forecast is unfortunately indicating that it will not be possible to go ahead with the safe running of the Muckross HOR event scheduled for this coming weekend. The event organisers are continuing to monitor the forecast closely and will keep a final decision on the event under review.

An email has been sent to each of the participating clubs today and a further email update will be issued no later than 9pm this Wednesday 4th December.

Entries are now open for the Muckross Head Of the River 2024 scheduled for Saturday 7th December at the National Rowing Centre in Farran.

Prospectus and all details are now posted in the Events section of the Rowing Ireland website. Coastal (offshore) entries will also open in the coming days (note separate Coastal event listing!)

The day is almost upon us! Looking forward to a great day of rowing at the NRC tomorrow.

All club Captains and Secretaries have been sent an email (Thu) with some important information on the event. A copy of this can be read at the link below and is also available on the Rowing Ireland website (Muckross HOR event page).

We cannot stress enough the importance of bringing layers and warm footwear for the cold weather. Please allow plenty time for driving, reduce your speed and take care on the roads.

The Muckross Head Of the River is back for 2023!

We will make our return to the NRC on Saturday 2nd December 2023.

The prospectus and event details are posted on the Rowing Ireland website. Entries also now open for flatwater events with Tracker details for coastal to follow!

The wait is (nearly) over! With Santa being a little busy this month, he dispatched one of his elves to deliver our Muckross HOR pennants for 2022. Sadly, it seems the elf got a little bit lost and then seems to have skidded well off road during the recent bad weather.

Multiple calls to North Pole Couriers later… and we have finally taken delivery of the coveted prizes. Truly a Christmas miracle.

In turn, our parcels are all but ready for dispatch from Muckross HQ - we will do our best to get them to the winning clubs in time for Christmas Day! 🎅🏻
