Cork North West Quarter Regeneration Programme will demolish and Construct new homes in the Knocknaheeny part of the City in a number of phases over approximately the next 12 years. The investment is driven by a Masterplan for the regeneration of the area which has an emphasis on Social, Economic and Physical strands. The Masterplan was developed by the Housing Agency and adopted by Cork City Council in November 2011.

ARDMORE AVENUE - PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY EXTINGUISHMENT INFORMATION

An extinguishment is proposed to facilitate the demolition of the existing now vacant houses and construction of new houses as part of the regeneration programme.

Cork City Council, in pursuance of Section 73 of the Roads Act 1993, proposes to make an Order extinguishing the Public Right of Way more particularly described in the schedule here to with effect from a date to be specified in the said Order.

Please note that it is the intention of Cork City Council to relocate the vehicular entrance to Dunmore Gardens in 2022.

A new entrance shall be constructed between numbers 54 and 56 Kilmore Road Lower. Once established the old entrance will be closed off to vehicles. Pedestrian access will be maintained at the old entrance.

The new entrance will ensure safe vehicular access to Dunmore Gardens during and after the construction of the Phase 1C housing development (41 units). The Phase 1C housing development shall occupy the now green field site directly east of Killiney Way and Killary Green.

In advance of the works Cork City Council are required, under the Roads Act 1993, to publish a notice inviting objections or representation. The notice was published in the Examiner on Friday 5th November 2021.
