🏠 Is Ireland’s inheritance tax system fair?

Ógra Fianna Fáil Cork South Central fully backs Fianna Fáil’s call for reform on inheritance tax.

Right now, a child can inherit up to €400,000 tax-free, while a niece or nephew is limited to €40,000, and others just €20,000 before a 33% tax applies.

Our Cumann believes this is unjust and we support a fairer and more equal approach to inheritance tax.

Delighted to hear the parliamentary party addressing this issue. I spoke with a member of the EDIT group (End Discrimination Inheritance Tax) a couple of days ago, and it feels like meaningful reform is only a matter of time.

Equal and fair treatment is needed. One threshold set for every Irish citizen, at least €460,000 tax-free or higher.

I look forward to working with party colleagues, and members of the EDIT group to ensure this reform gets implemented.

Inheritance tax discrimination affects everyone and it is vital that these changes be made hopefully as soon as possible.

Ógra Fianna Fáil Cork South Central are aware of this, and fully support reform to our inheritance tax laws.

1916 Easter Rising Commemoration organised by Cork Fianna Fáil today. 🇮🇪

Minister for Further Education, James Lawless TD, delivered an inspiring oration on the courage and sacrifice of those who fought for Irish freedom.

Many Ógra leaders from across Cork were in attendance. 110 years on, we stood together at St Finbarr’s Cemetery remembering our heroes and their legacy for Irish independence. ✊

Ógra Fianna Fáil Cork South Central was proud to join the Fianna Fáil Women’s Network at the Metropole Hotel to mark International Women’s Day.

Chairperson Radin Khan, had the privilege of greeting Taoiseach & Uachtarán Fianna Fáil Micheál Martin, MEPs Billy Kelleher & Cynthia Ní Mhurchú, TDs Seamus McGrath, Aindrias Moynihan, Michael Cahill, and many friends and colleagues.

Our Cumann is named in honour of Jane Dowdall, the first female Lord Mayor of Cork and a true trailblazer for women in politics. Her legacy continues to inspire women and young leaders across Cork and Ireland.

This centenary is not just about looking back, it is about building forward. Ógra members across Cork and nationwide are committed to ensuring the Party continues to evolve, represent and deliver for the next generation.

All of us at Ógra Fianna Fáil Cork South Central are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former Fianna Fáil MEP Brian Crowley.

His 25 years of dedicated service to the people of Cork and Ireland left a lasting legacy and continues to inspire young people involved in politics today.

We extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends.

May he rest in peace.
