So far 4 bantams covering almost 60 pheasant eggs in the new pen on Corrin nature reserve.

The first 2 clutches of ducklings appeared on Corrin Nature Reserve yesterday. 6 in one and about 16 or 17 in the second clutch with 2 yellow ones among them. Let’s hope the predators won’t get too many of them.

New bird feeder on Corrin Nature Reserve with protection for the birds from hawks and also prevention from crows stealing the feeding. Note the floor which stops pieces of seed etc from falling to the ground and drawing rats. We need to install one or two more so if anybody would like to sponsor them at €100.00 each please contact us, You can put your name on a name plate if you wish and we will put it up for you.

Our new composting site sponsored by Siobhain Steele Ceramics and Cork County Council. All compostable material generated on site will now be put to good use. As we get better and proficient at composting we would love to have schools and local communities visit us and learn to make use of otherwise waste materials.

We wish to thank Jones Engineering in Little Island for their sponsorship of €5,500.00 recently towards the extension of our Butterfly, Bee, Biodiversity and Winter Berry Garden on Corrin Nature Reserve. Today some of their staff helped with part of the planting of the Box hedge around the garden.
