All at the Field Golf Society have been shocked to learn of the sudden passing of JIM HANLEY (Hanley's Garden Centre). Jim was known to everyone in Frankfield and Douglas who ever bought a bag of coal or a Barna shed or one of his patio sets. He was a genuinely nice guy who worked so hard to build his business and he was putting out Christmas trees only in the last few days. Jim was also father-in-law to Susan Lewis-Hanley, daughter of Liam Lewis, so to Susan and the extended Hanley family may we express our deepest sympathies at this sad time.

Apologies to our members and particular apologies to Kenmare Golf Club after we had to make a last minute decision to cancel our planned outing last Saturday. The committee are happy to announce that the rescheduled outing will now take place on Saturday, August 23rd. with the tee booked from 12:30p.m. Again, our sincere thanks to Kenmare G.C. and we look forward to seeing you all on the day in the magnificent surroundings of Kenmare!

Our first outing of the year takes place on Saturday in the always welcoming Macroom Golf Club. Tee times are reserved from 11:30 to 12:30 and we ask all members to be in the clubhouse no later than 10:45. Annual m'ship fees may also be paid on the day. We look forward to seeing you all.

Spring is here and the daffodils are making an appearance so that can only mean one thing... The golf is back ! The first outing for our friendly golf society will be on the undulating slopes of Macroom G.C. on Sat., March 22nd. There is a poll up on the WhatsApp group and we would ask all members to reply with a 'yea' or 'nay' as soon as possible. Look forward to catching up with old friends again.

A big thumbs up for (from) our incoming Captain, Alan Heaney, who turns 50 today! Happy birthday Mr. Captain from all in the "Top Field Golfing Society". We look forward to celebrating with your drive-in on the first outing.
Speaking of the society's outings this year, we are always happy to receive suggestions from members and prospective courses so if you have any suggestions please send us a PM or get in touch with Robert Stephens or any committee member.

Another fabulous year of golf has come and gone and, with it, we have seen the retirement of some committee members. We would like to take this opportunity to thank EVERYONE who has served as an officer of the Golf Society for their time. It can sometimes be a thankless task but, when the golf finally starts, it's worth the hassle :)

Our A.G.M. was held before Christmas and a great night was had in the Tory Top Bar so our thanks as always for their hospitality and to DJ Tom who (as usual) was brilliant. Your new officers for 2025 are as follows...

The Top Field Golf Society will hold it's Christmas Party Night this Friday, Dec. 6th. in the Tory Top Bar from 8p.m. on. There will be prize giving for all our outings this year as well as presentations for "Golfer of the Year" & "Club Person of the Year". We would ask all members, especially prize winners to attend. Afterwards there will be music from DJ Tom and general craic & rí rá so don't miss out on what promises to be a great night's entertainment.

What a fabulous day everyone had in the Gold Coast Golf Club and we have the pictures to prove it!
