Limerick Childcare Committee Providing support to childcare providers, childminders and parents since 2001.

Limerick Childcare Committee was set-up in 2014 following the merger of Limerick City and County Childcare Committees. Both Limerick City Childcare Committee and County Limerick Childcare Committee have supported the development of the sector since 2001. Limerick Childcare Committee continues this work and is responsible for the local delivery of National Childcare Programmes. We are guided in our

work by national legislation and policy pertaining to the Early Years sector. We work in partnership with relevant stakeholders to support the childcare sector in Limerick City and County.

This date 13 yearโ€™s ago I opened my preschool in Ballingarry. That year there was just Mairead and myself working there with 22 children. How things have changed!! We now have over 90 children registered in the service and I have 10 fantastic colleagues working with me and of course Mairead is still part of the team. Friendshipโ€™s have grown, memories made every day and hereโ€™s to many more years. The picture is Sarahโ€™s (one of our colleagues) son Dylan on his first day 13 years ago. Iโ€™d any of you have pictures to share from over the years we would love to see them. X###xx

Are you a childminder or parent? Our childminding focus groups will provide an opportunity for childminders and parents to share their views and experiences.
The Department of Children, Disability and Equality (DCDE) is inviting childminders and parents to share their experiences and perspectives on the implementation of the new childminding regulations. Feedback gathered through these focus groups will help inform the ongoing review of the regulations and shape future developments in the childminding sector. This is an opportunity to discuss how the regulations are working in practice, the supports available to childminders, any challenges or barriers to registration and compliance, and suggestions for how the system could be improved to better meet the needs of childminders, children and families.
