Today we celebrate all the women involved in SAR including Ashleigh & Aoife with ourselves. We thank you for your commitment and dedication. Happy International Women’s Day .

Today, we’re proud to celebrate the women who are shaping the future of maritime Search and Rescue.

From leadership development through the IMRF Women in SAR initiative, to targeted training opportunities and increasing visibility of women at every level of maritime response, the landscape is changing for the better.

To all the women who serve, lead, mentor, train, and inspire across the maritime community, thank you. Your courage and commitment make our seas safer for everyone.

Some pictures from last nights scenario based exercise at Ballyhealy . Casualty suffering a cardiac event on the beach . Using our drone with its search light our drone team we’re able to light up the area while our ground team worked on the casualty.

Cardiac response is one of the many scenarios we train regularly for .

For assistance on or near the water call 112 / 999 and ask for the Coast Guard .

From midnight tonight the last S 92 operating in Ireland based in Waterford as Rescue 117 will stand down and the new AW 189 will become operational as Rescue 117 . The S 92 was a very familiar aircraft in this area having been involved in countless operations and rescues for over a decade .

We thank the crew for the training and school visits over the years and wish the new provider Bristow and smooth transition.
