The 2025 Infantry Platoon Attack Competition took place at the Glenn of Imall between 02SEPT25-03SEPT25. Infantry Platoons drawn from each Infantry Battalion competed in executing the best Platoon Attack and also competed in the best skill with Platoon level Weapons.

On the 8th of May, students of the 7th PNCO had their passing out parade, having commenced the course on the 4th of November 24.

Congratulations to all students who passed the 7th PNCO course. The 7th PNCO course was conducted by the Infantry School, Military College, training students from the DFTC and supported by DFTC units .

The DFTC 7th PNCO course resumed training on 07JAN25. The course commenced training on 4NOV24. The 7th PNCO course is currently undertaking their MIT block in qualifying students as weapons instructors in the Army. Concurrently, students are undertaking PT training to condition students to thrive during the robust field training exercises scheduled in the course.

Infantry Corps personnel on this year's Confidence Training Instructors (CTI) Course. CTIs are an essential support to DF training. They safely conduct rock climbing, abseiling, and mountaineering training for Infantry Corps and DF personnel.

CTIs regularly support and assist Basic Recconaissacce and Reconnaissance Commanders’ Courses. CTIs also support Infantry Battallion unit training, which is key in building individual confidence and bring teams together over shared experiences.

Congratulations to all who passed the Basic Infantry Close Reconnaissance Course conducted by 28 INF BN. The course intent is to train and qualify Infantry Pte’s, NCOs, and Officers to operate within the Battalion’s Reconnaissance Platoon. Students demonstrated a high level of competence, comprehension, judgement, and robustness in order to operate in the most challenging of environments. Personnel from the Reconnaissance Platoon will be able to source accurate information in order to aid the Coy, Bn, or Bde Comd plan.

At the weekend the 42 IPCC conducted FIBUA (Fighting in a Built Up Area) clearance training in Clonmel town centre in order to prepare new Platoon Commanders for the challenges they may face when conducting Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT).
