Research carried out by Fingal Children and Young People’s Services Committee shows that our area has one of the lowest proportions of community-based, not-for-profit childcare providers, just 5% (or 16 providers), compared to the national average of 25%.
As a result, many children and families in disadvantaged areas are missing out on vital early learning and care opportunities.
I have been raising this with council management and will continue to do so.
