Here's an interesting point someone commented in the Journal.ie today on setting up or running a business in Ireland, something to keep in mind, support local businesses π
There are so many costs before you open your door
Insurance costs
Energy costβs
Stock costs ever increasing
Rent cost
Compliance costs
Training and inspection of individual businesses
PRSI
USC
Corporation Tax
Vat
Transport costs
NCT
CVRT
Road Tax
Tolls
Motor Insurance
Carbon Tax
Vehicle Services
fuel Costs
VRT
Upcoming additional costs
Pensions
4day week
Sick pay
Domestic abuse pay
Coffee cup tax
Sugar tax
Plastic bag tax
Government keeps on pushing up all of these costs, including wage costs.
Itβs a viscous circle.
The more the costs are increased. The more the cost of everything increases.
Itβs very simple itβs passed on to the customer.
Itβs what has got us the title of the most expensive country in Europe for everything.
It just ridiculous.
If after all of the above you managed to make a profit. You pay Corporation tax on it.
Everyone should be paid a fair wage.
Everyone in business also needs to be allowed to make a living. Otherwise they will simply close. There are so many businesses closing and considering closing due to cost of doing business
Small businesses are being hounded out of business.
Eventually there will be nothing left but the big corporations, that can afford to stay in business. Then there will be zero competition in everything. Thatβs worrying. Zero competition equals scandalous prices. As in the Insurance, Banking industry
