The Cost of being a Woman - Join us for this full-day event on Saturday 14th October in Cork City.

What are the costs of being a woman, financially and otherwise?

This question will be explored at this full-day networking and capacity building event which takes place on Saturday 14th October from 11am in Cork City. This event is open to all to attend - and we would particularly like to encourage those who might not have engaged with feminist policy in the past to register.

TOMORROW - Panel featuring Green Party Chair Hazel Chu amongst other great line up of speakers

Looking forward to the First public meeting of the All-island Women Forum, which will be livestreamed here on our page this Thursday 30th Sept at 11am.

Led by NWC, the All-island Women’s Forum aims to address underrepresentation of women and further develop women’s role in peacebuilding and civic society. The forum meet on a monthly basis, with this month's meeting focusing on the theme; 'Women’s Political Participation – Threats to Security’.

The forum will look at what protections are in place to protect women in public office from gender based abuse, and how protections might be strengthened. Members of the forum will hear evidence from women who have experienced threats to safety while operating in political spaces, and from those who have worked in the area of improving women’s security.

We hope you'll be able to tune in on Thursday!

Covid has been hard on everyone, but it's been especially tough on pregnant women and new mothers. Maternal care matters, and as we begin to recover from the crisis of the last year, we have an opportunity to build back better when it comes to providing improved care and stronger supports for women.

Today we launch our roadmap for improved maternal care in Ireland, with four key priorities we want to see implemented in the coming 12 months.
